Spring 2017 Program

Pocket Kings and Queens

Mrs. Christensen’s classes get to share about themselves during their week as Pocket King or Pocket Queen.  Students put something about themselves in each pocket of the jeans.  It’s been a great way to learn about our friends!

Valentine Parties

All three preschool classes celebrated Valentine’s Day this week.  Each class invited parents to join them for parties.  Students did activities with their special adult and opened Valentines from their friends.  Fun!

Christmas Party – Purple and Green Classes

Preschool Christmas Program

On December 15, all three preschool classes combined to perform the program "A Tree for Christmas."  Students shared speaking parts and songs that told about how a Christmas tree can remind us of Jesus.  The lights remind us that Christ is the light of the world.  The garland wrapped around the tree reminds us that Jesus was wrapped in swaddling cloths and laid in a manger at his birth.  The angel reminds us of Gabriel who told Mary that she would give birth to Jesus and of the angels that told the shepherds about Jesus' birth.  Candy canes remind us of the shepherds who were the first to hear about Jesus' birth and who spread the good news.  Round ornaments remind us that Jesus came to take away the sins of the whole world.  God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~ John 3:16

Sweet Reformation Parties

On October 27 (Green and Purple classes) and October 31 (Yellow class) the preschoolers had Sweet Reformation Parties.  They learned about the beginning of the Reformation; did math activities with candy corn; played ball while learning the words through, in, on, over, and under; and rode tricycles and other riding toys.  Each child received a sweet treat that included kettle corn provided by Mother, Goose and Bean's.

Fire Safety Presentation

Mr. Dean Anderson from the Fergus Falls Fire Department visited preschool. He taught us that a fire fighter is just a regular person under all that gear, so we should not be afraid. He talked to us about smoke detectors, about practicing fire drills at home, and about having a family meeting spot outside our houses. He taught us how to stop, drop, and roll. He showed us a pumper truck and let us go inside. Thanks, Mr. Anderson!

1000-Pound Pumpkins

October 6, 2016

Mr. Swenson grows 1000-pound pumpkins, and he brought two of them to preschool!  One was over 1000 pounds, and the other was just under.  Students had fun touching and even climbing on the big pumpkins.  Mr. Swenson gave each student a seed from a giant pumpkin as well.  Who knows?  Maybe one of our students will grow a huge pumpkin next summer!
